摘要：A viscous fluid coupling device for controlling the transmission of an outpttorque in response to the ambient temperature of the device. The coupling deviceincludes a valve plate for successively effecting first, second and third operational modesto maintain the output torque transmission respectively at low, medium and high levels.The valve plate is provided with a slot which is arranged to effect a fourth operationalmode between the second and third operational modes thereby to reliably effect thesecond operational mode in response to a drop in the ambient temperature of thedevice.
